Contractors find body in rubble of Didcot Power Station
A BODY has been found in the rubble of the collapsed Didcot Power Station.
Contractors have been searching for the bodies of Ken Cresswell, of Clifton, John Shaw, of Kimberworth and their colleague Christopher Huxtable from Swansea since the collapse in February.
A fourth man killed, Michael Collings, from Teesside, was recovered at the time of the collapse.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said the families of Mr Cresswell, Mr Shaw and Mr Huxtable had been informed and were “being supported by specially trained officers”.
He added contractors have paused the removal of debris so that specialists from Thames Valley Police and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue and the South Central Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Recovery Team (HART), can enter the site.
The safe recovery of the body will take place and the Disaster Victim Identification process will commence.
The body is yet to be formally identified.
