Man Charged Over Sheffield Bus Crash
A man has been charged over a crash in Sheffield during a police chase. The 18 year old was said to have been involved in a collision with a bus along with Nissan Amera, both of which had been stood still at the time of the crash on Main Road in Darnell.
It was alleged that he had been involved in a police pursuit shortly before the crash and he has been accused of failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving without a licence and without insurance.
A spokesperson for the police said that at about 12.55pm on June 11 a grey BMW 3 series had been involved in a collision with a single decker bus and Nissan Almera, both of which had been stood still at the time.
This had followed a pursuit by police after it was alleged that the BMW failed to stop for police officers. A man of 18 was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop along with other driving offences according to the spokesperson and had since been charged and then bailed to court. The bus and the Nissan were said to have been damaged in the incident.
