Man From South Yorkshire Slashed With Machete In Armed Raid
A man had his finger and arm nearly severed during a raid on his home where the attackers hit him with a hammer on the head and slashed him with a machete.
Gareth Bouse was in bed at the time of the break-in in Princess Street, Woodlands when three men broke into his home and demanded money. One hit him over the head with a hammer and then pinned him onto the bed and tried to chop one of his fingers off.
He was punched in the face many times and almost lost his arm when the attackers slashed it with a machete with it going through the bone. He was also throttled during the attack when one of the men said that he had seen too much.
The attackers along with another man ransacked the property and fled with about £400 and an Armani watch that they had taken from Gareth. Gareth was rushed to the hospital and had emergency surgery on his arm where he had to have the bone pinned. Surgeons feared that he might lose the arm.
It was said that the robbers were ruthless and Gareths arm had been literally hanging off after they struck him with the machete when he put his arm up to defend himself when they went for his neck. Gareth was in intensive care and the house had been cordoned off by police following the attack with an investigation now being underway.
