Nurses bus across the Isle with vital service
School nurses have been working through the holidays in the Isle, in a bid to reach more victims of child sexual exploitation.
A health bus has been to Epworth, and more recently to the market place in Crowle, to allow nurses to hold sessions with staff from other agencies. They are reaching out to young people to make them aware that help is available if needed.
The nurses work for Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. They will be back at Sheffield Park, Scunthorpe, between 2pm and 6pm on August 24.
School nurse April Todd said: “The sessions are with staff who make up the Multi Agency Child Exploitation Forum in North Lincolnshire. The aim is to make young people and carers aware of CSE and the signs of someone who is suffering from it. If people recognise the signs they can take action quickly.”
Visitors to the bus can also learn how to access services.
