Police Ask For Publics Help About Sexual Assault In Rotherham

South Yorkshire Police are asking for the help of the public and witnesses to come forward after a 14 year old girl was sexually assaulted in the North Anston region of Rotherham.

On Monday 15 May at around 8.15am the 14 year old girl was walking in Kendall Woods when a man unknown to her sexually assaulted her. It is thought that a member of the public who was passing could have disturbed the man and he then ran away from the scene.

The girl was said to be uninjured but is receiving support from officers who have been specially trained and an investigation is now underway. Police said that there will be an increase in police presence so as to provide reassurance.

The suspect was said to be white and over twenty years of age with a brown coloured beard. He was said to be wearing a grey coloured track suit on the bottom half and a black top with a hood and said to be tall and thin.

Police are asking for anyone in the region to come forward if they saw anyone matching that description. People should quote incident number 273 of 15 May 2017.
