Suspect Package Left Road Closed In Sheffield
A report about a suspect package left by a busy road in Sheffield closed this morning.
Attercliffe Road was blocked off in both directions following a member of the public reporting a suspect package, which later turned out to be nothing more sinister than a sandbag.
It is also thought that a police car had crashed very close to where the package had been seen by a member of the public. Some of the buses running into Sheffield had to be diverted and Stagecoach Yorkshire were said to have taken the number 52 bus from Attercliffe Road, The Wicker and Saville Street due to the road closure.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said that a member of the public had reported spotting what they thought was a suspicious package, which was a sandbag when checked and all roads had been reopened.
