VIDEO: Drug raids in Eastwood following tip-offs
DRUG raids have been carried out on homes in Eastwood as part of a plan to tackle crime in the area.
Officers from the new Eastwood policing team executed a warrant at a house in Russell Street on Saturday (August 13).
Further raids have also been carried out this week.
Following tip-offs from members of the public, officers seized 33 cannabis plants from the house and are now carrying out further enquiries in the area.

Sgt Dave Baines said: “We executed this warrant following intelligence from members of the local community and I would like to thank them for helping us in our ongoing work to make Eastwood a safe and enjoyable place to live.
“The team has been set up to tackle specific crime within the area and this warrant is just one example of how we are doing that.”
The Advertiser exclusively revealed this month that Eastwood now has its own mini-police force as part of a council plan to tackle antisocial behaviour, crime and litter.
A sergeant and three police officers, along with PCSOs, are patrolling on a daily basis as part of plans to overhaul and improve the area.
